Getting Started with Sonter
1Create Your Account
Sign up with your email address. We'll send you a magic link to verify your email - no password needed! This keeps your account secure and makes signing in easy.
2Create or Join a Circle
Circles are small groups of 3-10 close friends who share weekly updates. You can:
- •Create a circle: Give it a name and invite friends via email or shareable link
- •Join a circle: Click an invite link from a friend
3Write Your First Update
Each week, share what you've been up to and what you're planning:
- •What happened this week
- •What you want to accomplish next week
- •Add images, formatting, and links with our rich text editor
4Read and React
Check out your friends' updates in your feed. Give them a heart to show support and let them know you're reading along!
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I post updates?
Sonter is designed for weekly updates. You can post once a week to keep your circle in the loop. We'll send you a weekly reminder (if you opt in) to help you remember!
Who can see my updates?
Only members of your circles can see your updates. Your content is completely private - no public feeds, no search engines, just your close friends.
How many circles can I join?
You can join as many circles as you'd like! However, we recommend keeping it to a manageable number (3-5 circles) so you can stay engaged with each one.
Can I edit or delete my updates?
Yes! You can edit your updates anytime. You can also delete individual updates or leave a circle entirely from your settings.
Is Sonter free?
Yes, Sonter is currently free to use. All core features are available at no cost. If we introduce premium features in the future, we'll make sure the core experience remains free.
How do I invite friends to my circle?
From your circle page, you can generate a shareable invite link. You can also invite friends directly by email. Invite links can be set to expire or have a maximum number of uses for security.
Can I use Sonter on my phone?
Yes! Sonter works great on mobile browsers. We also have a native iOS app available. Android support is coming soon!
What if I miss a week?
No worries! Sonter is about accountability, not pressure. If you miss a week, you can always catch up the following week. Your circle will understand - life happens!
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account anytime from your account settings. This will permanently remove your profile, updates, and data from Sonter.
